2018 is a New Year! Make a pledge to join us, and learn more about issues and ways to have an impact on progressive issues. We'll be planning for the 2018 Women's March (and making posters!), Science March, and plan for actions on an array of policy and political issues.
Guest Speakers: Pat Murphy and JoAnn Persch, Sisters of Mercy, who have worked for over forty years in Chicago on the rights and needs of immigrants, refugees, older persons, and families who are homeless. They continue to work to end the U.S. immigration policies they label "demonic." They helped found Su Casa, a shelter for survivors of torture from Central America, and worked in residence and service at Casa Notre Dame, for women in recovery from addiction.
A movie, Band of Sisters, was made about their work: http://www.bandofsistersmovie.com/sisters/pat-murphy-and-joann-persch
We hope you will come, be inspired by these two amazing women, and find a way to get engaged to make a difference in 2018!
Event is FREE but you must RSVP here and please bring a donation for the Church's clothes closet if possible! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/january-meeting-of-progressives-for-change-tickets-40936561357
