Love Lives Here

  • Wilder Park 175 South Prospect Avenue Elmhurst, IL, 60126 United States (map)

A vigil of affirmation and support for our LGBTQ community. Music and singing to lift our spirits and unite in solidarity.

Love Lives Here commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York. These demonstrations by members of the gay community against a police raid in June of 1969 are seen as the catalyst for the start of the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBTQ rights in the United States. Love Lives Here will celebrate and support our LGBTQ community with music, presentations, and glowsticks. Supportive community organizations will be there as well.

Rock star Cathy Richardson will provide the music. Director of Human Rights for the State of Illinois, Jim Bennett, is our featured speaker. We'll have reflections from some of our neighbors.

Come celebrate with us!

Sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of Elmhurst.
